Ann Montgomery Jones

Ann Montgomery Jones, 91, passed away June 7, 2021 at her home.

Ann was born April 8, 1930 in Tell City and is the daughter of Frederick and Orpha McDaniel Montgomery. Also preceding in her death is her husband, Louis Keith Jones, and her son, David Keith Jones, as well as sisters Bertha Montgomery Rainey, Emma Jean Montgomery Rust, Carol Sue Montgomery and brothers Ed Montgomery and Louis Montgomery.

Ann began working at a young age at the movie theater in Tell City with her sister, Jean. She was later employed at Indiana Bell before moving with her family to Tampa, Florida where she worked until retirement at General Telephone, later called Verizon.

She was a life-long member of the First United Methodist Church, spending years as a Sunday school teacher. She loved studying the Bible and was for many years a member of a ladies Bible study group. She also spent time crocheting, making many hats and scarves for the homeless in her later years.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Kay Jones, in Tell City, her granddaughter, Davi Ann Jones, and her great-grandson, Zachary Baker, of Brandon, Florida; her sister, Lucille Montgomery Thomas of Alabama, and her brother, Warren Montgomery, of Ohio.

Services will be held at 11:00am on Friday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Padgett officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 7:00pm Thursday and from 9:00 am to service time Friday at the funeral Home.
