Augustus “Gus” Edward Kuhner, 89, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Oakwood Health Campus.
He was born September 8, 1935, in Hudson, NY, son of the late Leonard and Irene (Graham) Kuhner.
Gus served 8 years active duty with the United States Air Force and 6 years with the National Guard. He married Minnie (Hendershot) Brinksneader on April 3, 1987. Gus was a draftsman for 10 years at Swiss Plywood. He was a member of Deer Creek Baptist Church and the Tell City American Legion. Gus enjoyed traveling, camping, and motorcycle riding.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie Brinksneader of Franklin, IN; son, James Kuhner of New Bedford, MA; stepchildren, Darren Brinksneader of Lousiville, KY and Lisa (Bruce) Benninger of Greenwood, IN; sister, Elaine Nabb of Coon Rapids, MN;1 granddaughter, Heath Kuhner; and 1 great-grandson, Brenden Kuhner.
In addition to his parents, Gus was preceded in death by his son, Ricardo “Rick” Kuhner and a sister, Ann Clark.
Services will be 3:00pm Wednesday June 25, 2025, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Burial with military rites will be held in Deer Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 until service time.
Memorial contributions may be made to Deer Creek Baptist Church.
