Barbara (Gratzer) Steen

Barbara G. Steen, 86, passed away on June 17, 2023, at Lincoln Hills in New Albany, IN.

She was born October 4, 1936, in Evansville, IN, to Anthony and Mary Elizabeth (Lamar) Gratzer.

Barb was a graduate of the Class of 1954 from Tell City High School. She was united in marriage to Dale T. Steen on April 18, 1959.

She was an administrative assistant at Tell City Clinic and retired after 28 years in 2000. Barb was a member of St. Pius Catholic Church. She enjoyed painting, gardening, walking, and was an avid bird watcher. Barb loved her family and the time she shared with them. One of her greatest enjoyments was watching her grandchildren's sporting events and activities.

Barb is survived by her children, Steve Steen (Kim) of Bandon, Brian Steen (Barb) of Tell City, Beth Beach (Danny) of New Albany, and Julie Fest (Brian) of Troy; eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Barb was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Dale T. Steen.

Funeral services will be held at 10am on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at St. Pius Catholic Church in Troy, IN, with Fr. Kolbe Wolniakowski officiating. Entombment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3pm to 7pm on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, with a prayer service at 6:30pm, and from 8:30am to 9:30am, on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at the Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Children's Hospital or the Alzheimer's Association.
