Barbara Wiram Obituary

Barbara E. Wiram, 88, passed away May 13, 2024, at Woodlands Care Center in Newburgh, IN.

Barbara Elaine Gordon was born on January 23, 1936. She was a 1953 graduate of Tell City High School. Barbara married her best friend Jon Raymond Wiram on December 23, 1960, and they shared 59 wonderful years together before his passing in 2019.

She worked several jobs as a teenager, cleaning doctor offices and restaurants, all before school started. Barbara lived in California after high school, and she worked at the LA Times Newspaper. While working for a restaurant/night club in Terre Haute, she met her husband Jon on the dance floor. Barbara had worked at Barnes & Nobles in Eastland Mall which she really enjoyed, due to her love of books & reading. She loved Elvis and Magnum PI's, Tom Selleck. Barbara had a flair for home decor and was a fashionista. She loved classic art and paintings, a few favorites being Renoir, Monet, and Van Gogh’s Starry Night. Barbara also loved animals, especially her beloved dog Penelope Sue, and in her free time would volunteer at the Humane Society.

Barbara was a very strong woman of faith. Her favorite quote was “Love God is the most Important thing in life”. She enjoyed taking drives with her husband and being with her family. Barbara was the best Mom & homemaker and loved her children more than life itself.
