Bennie DeWayne Rust

Bennie DeWayne Rust, 71, of Grandview IN, passed away December 17, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born October 24, 1951, to Ralph and Oleiva (VanWinkle) Rust. Bennie married Wanda Rust on December 23, 2006. He served in the National Guard and was a member of the Local 181 Operating Engineers as a heavy equipment operator and mechanic, retiring in October of 2016. He attended Little Pigeon Baptist Church and loved his grandchildren dearly.

He is survived by his wife Wanda Rust; daughters, Tiffany (Dewey) Welborn of Huntingburg, Brigitte (Shane) Rich of Plant City, FL, Wendy Rust of Holland; step-daughter, Renae (Mike) Holzbog of English; son, Wayne Rust of Jasper; sisters, Susie Brock, Patsy Rowe, Lynell Sickle, and Gaye Rickenbaugh; brother, Lynal Rust; grandchildren, Olivia Kuebler, Hunter, Eli, and Chett Welborn, Maddie and Kelsey Schmalenberger, Makayla Rust, Weston and Haydon Rust, and Kari Ann Uppencamp; step grandchildren, Jacob Beckman and Morgan Holzbog, and Kyndall Seidl, and 2 great grandchildren.

Bennie is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Ronnie Rust, and a nephew Hallie Rust.

Visitation will be Tuesday December 20, 2022, from 2:00 to 8:00pm and on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, from 9:00am until service time at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home with Bro. Bob Duley officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery in Newtonville.
