Betty Lou Hilgenhold, 78, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2025, at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, IN.
She was born April 1, 1947, to the late Maurice and Ruby (Dixon) Kessner. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, James Kessner, Connie Carter, Shelia Kessner, and Cindy White.
Betty was a Tell City High School graduate. During her working career she worked for Wood Crafters, Swiss Plywood, GE, and worked in Home Health Care caring for the elderly. She was an active member of the Gospel Tabernacle Church where she taught Bible and Sunday School. Betty was currently an ordained minister and had been for several years, ministering and helping others through prayer. She enjoyed the ocean, going hiking, singing and giving her kids a hard time. Betty loved spending time and sharing stories with her grandchildren, family, and friends.
Surviving are her daughter, Regina (Kevin) Sharpe of Tell City; son, Greg (Christy) Hilgenhold; grandchildren, Hayden (Felicia) Hilgenhold, Eli Hilgenhold, Nic Hilgenhold (Meggie), Thomas (Abi) Sharpe, Sarah Sharpe, and Katherine Sharpe.
Funeral services will be held at 5pm on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. A private burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 2pm to 5pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Gospel Tabernacle Church.
