Bettye B. Doogs

Bettye B. Doogs, 96, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City, Indiana.

She was born December 6, 1929, in St. Marks, Indiana, to the late Raymond and Lena (Krause) Bockhold. Bettye was united in marriage to Leonard E. Doogs on April 15, 1952. Together they shared 65 years of marriage before his passing in 2017.

Bettye worked in payroll for General Electric until her retirement, dedicating many years of service to the company.

A faithful member of St. Marks Catholic Church, Bettye was also active in the Daughters of Isabella and the Perry County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She lived a life centered on faith, family, and service to others.

Above all, Bettye cherished her family and treasured every opportunity to be involved in their lives. She found great enjoyment in golfing, tending to her garden, and spending time with those she loved, especially when gathered around the table for a lively game of euchre. Her kindness, devotion, and gentle spirit will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Surviving are her sons, Dan Doogs (Dale) of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, and Sam Doogs of Tell City; and her grandchildren, Brian Doogs, Kayce Quinn, Sydney Doogs, and Samuel Doogs.

In addition to her parents and husband, Bettye was preceded in death by her siblings, John Bockhold, Tom Bockhold, Joan Edwards, Mary Ann Bockhold, and Pauline Schaefer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at St. Mark's Catholic Church, with burial to follow in St. Mark's Cemetery. Fr. Bernie Etienne and Fr. Tony Hollowell will concelebrate. Visitation will be held from 8:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church.
