Brenda "Suzy" Thibodeaux

Brenda “Suzy” Thibodeaux, 71, passed away on May 26, 2024, in Tell City, IN.

She was born on September 29, 1952, in Lafayette, LA, daughter of the late Earnest Thibodeaux and Velma Martin.

Suzy spent most of her working life as a compassionate and loving caregiver. She thoroughly loved her job and the families she grew to become a part of. Suzy loved the Lord with all her heart. Her family was always the most important thing. Suzy knew hardship all too well. She raised 2 great kids by herself and did all she could to keep them together. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and dancing. Suzy was a wonderful and beautiful person. She gave all she had to each and every one in her life. Suzy was an amazing woman and if you were loved by her you were blessed.

Suzy is survived by her daughter, Baranda Lee VanDyke of Cannelton; son, Bryan Lee (Amanda) Karnes of Tell City; a sister, Betty; adopted brother, Alex; grandchildren, Elijah VanDyke, Aryannah VanDyke, Tristan Moad, Destinee Karnes, and Bryson Karnes; along with her ride or dies, Elaine which she loved like a sister, Judy who was her partner in crime, and Pam with whom she enjoyed traveling; and her dog Bella.

In addition to her parents, Suzy was preceded in death by her stepmother, Lydia Thibodeaux, two brothers, Ray & Otis “Pappy”, sister, Romona, and adopted siblings, Jeannie and Charles.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery.
