Carl M. Fuchs, 89, passed away Monday, November 9, 2015 at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Troy on January 3, 1926 in to the late Carl P. and Mary (Kessans) Fuchs, and step-mother, Adella (Kessans) Fuchs. Also preceding him in death was his wife, Agnes (Olberding) Fuchs; sisters, Mildred Boehm and Caroline Adkins; a brother, Irvin "Bud" Fuchs; grandson, Paul Fuchs, Jr.; great-grandson, Zachariah Fuchs.
Carl was a Navy and Army veteran, serving in WWII and Korea. He retired from the Indiana State Highway Dept. He was a member of St. Paul Church and Knights of Columbus. Carl enjoyed fishing, NASCAR and drag racing.
Surviving are his children, Patty Rudolph (Loel) of Tell City, Dennis Fuchs (Tonya Carpenter) of Leopold, Liz McCallister (Jim) of Tell City, Jeanette Criss (Darrel) of Lamar, Paul Fuchs, Sr. (Elon) of Dale, James Fuchs of Tell City and Mike Fuchs of Evanston; sister, Alice Pannett and Mary Hearst (Pudy), all of Tell City; brother, Ralph Fuchs of Tell City; 10 grandchildren, Theresa Fuchs, Charlene Hemmings, Michelle Sherry, Sherrie Davis, Michelle Powell, Anthony Criss, Mandy Fuchs, Jamie Happe, Travis Carazos and Nicholas Parrott; 21 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM CST on Saturday, November 14, 2015. Father Thomas Richstatter will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery with military rites. Visitation willl be at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home on Friday from 2:00-8:00 PM, with a K of C prayer service at 6:30PM and Saturday 8:30-9:30 AM
