Carl Schwindel, Sr Obituary

Carl J. Schwindel Sr. ,87, passed away Thursday April 28, 2022 at his home.

Born in St. Meinrad, Indiana, he was the son of the late Stephen and Bethel (Aders) Schwindel. He was united in marriage to Edna Hessig Lambeck on September 28, 1975 who preceded in death on March 5, 2021. Carl was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict and was a farmer. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ and enjoyed woodworking, gardening, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his children, Debra (Mike) Scherer of New Boston, IN, Carlene (Dan) Tyring of Washington, IN, Joanie Walls of Etowah, TN, Karen (Larry) Beier of St. Meinrad, IN, Mike Schwindel, of Evanston, IN, Carl Schwindel, Jr. of Etowah, TN, Pat (BJ) Stallman of Evanston, IN; step-sons, Dennis (Mo) Lambeck of St. Meinrad, IN , Richard (Angela) Lambeck of Tell City IN; a sister, Pat Neyenhaus of Tell City, IN; 32 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and his wife Edna, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Egloff, 3 grandchildren and his siblings..

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, May 2, 2022 at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home with Pastor Derek Roe officiating. Burial will be in Trinity United Church of Christ Cemetery with military honors.

Visitation will be from 10:00am to service time Monday at the funeral home .

Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ, Heart to Heart Hospice, Spencer Co, Habitat for Humanity or the American Parkinson's Disease Association.
