Carolyn E. Adkins, 80, of Tell City, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
She was born on October 31, 1943, to Edward and Pearl (Hagedorn) Luecke.
Carolyn was a 1961 graduate of Chrisney High School. She was united in marriage to Bob Adkins on July 6, 1974, and they shared 49 wonderful years together.
Carolyn was a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She retired from Citizens National Bank in 1998 as an assistant cashier. In her spare time, she volunteered at Oakwood Health Campus, leading Bingo nights and chaperoning tenants to church. Carolyn enjoyed yard sales, her bowling league, talking politics and doing jigsaw puzzles. Her favorite pass time was being with her family who she adored.
Survivors include her husband, Bob Adkins; children, Sabrina Woolley (Jeff) Tell City, Tierney Robinson (Wayne) Logansport, IN, Weston Adkins (Tina) Tampa, FL, and Aaron Adkins (Sibbie) Owensboro, KY; sisters, Rita Schroeder and Mary Ruth Raaf; eight grandchildren, Lori Jochem, Jennifer Kellems, Ivy Young, Logan McManaway, Athena McCarty, Alicia Justice, Leah Adkins, and Lauren Sabogal; twelve great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
In addition to her parents Carolyn was preceded in death by her brother, John Luecke and her twin sister Marilyn King.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at St. Paul's Catholic Church with Fr. Tony Hollowell officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3pm to 6pm on Friday, January 5, 2024, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home and from 9am to 10am on Saturday at St. Paul Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. Paul Catholic Church or the St. Mary Cemetery Fund.
