Carolyn Pfeiffer Obituary

Carolyn Ann Pfeiffer, 83, passed away on May 11, 2026, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

 

She was born on May 20, 1942, in Fostoria, Ohio, to the late William and Irene (Flannagan) Flamion.

 

Carolyn was a proud member of the 1960 graduating class of Tell City High School, where she earned the distinction of salutatorian. She continued her education at Evansville College, earning her teaching degree, and later obtained her master’s degree in education from Indiana University.

 

On June 6, 1964, she was united in marriage to John Pfeiffer. Together they shared 61 years of marriage filled with love, family, and cherished memories.

 

Carolyn devoted her life to education, touching the lives of countless students throughout her 36-year teaching career. She began teaching in Perry County and later dedicated 31 years to the Tell City-Troy Township School Corporation before retiring in 1999. A devoted educator, Carolyn cared deeply for her students and took great pride in helping shape and inspire young lives.

 

Carolyn was a faithful member of St. Paul Catholic Church and Delta Kappa Gamma. She enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping, gardening, and following the stock market. She especially treasured the time spent with her grandchildren.

 

Carolyn is survived by her loving husband, John Pfeiffer; her children, John Pfeiffer (Sheri) of Tell City, Jason Pfeiffer of Tell City, and Vicki Turner and her husband, Brian, of Bowling Green, Kentucky; her siblings, Diana Wright of Boonville, Roger Flamion of Troy, Ralph Flamion and his wife, Susan, of Tell City, and Linda Avenatti and her husband, Pete, of Branchville; her grandchildren, Landon and Lindsey; and several nieces and nephews.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 15, 2026, at St. Paul Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Tell City.

 

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church, Alzheimer’s Association, or the American Cancer Society.
