Catherine Wade

Catherine G. Wade, 82, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2025, at her home in Tell City.

She was born on November 15, 1942, in Ararat, AL, daughter of the late William Earlie and Leona (Sellers) Gibson.

Catherine graduated from Choctaw County High School in AL and was a seamstress at Vanity Fair. She married John F. Wade, Jr. on August 21, 1961, they shared 60 years together before his passing in 2022. Catherine was an active member of Deer Creek Baptist Church for over 42 years. She enjoyed sewing, cross stitching, cooking, and working in her flower garden.

Survivors include her children, Gregory Steven (Nan) Wade of Starkville, MS, Beverly Wade, John (Lisa) Wade, Anna Hammack, and Gene G-Man Estes, all of Tell City, IN; 5 grandchildren, Julia, Lindsey, Jordan, Tori and Jacob; 4 great-grandchildren, Cody, Sawyer, Liam and Quinn; siblings, Vangie Mosley of Toxey, AL, Gordon Gibson of Butler, AL, Lynn Mills, of Millry, AL, and Mark (Jackie) Gibson of Ararat, AL.

In addition to her parents and husband, Catherine was preceded in death by her brothers, Arnold, Murray, and Wayne Gibson.

Funeral services will be held at noon on June 14, 2025, at Deer Creek Baptist Church with burial to follow in Deer Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10am until service time at the church.
