Charles C. Weatherholt, 96, of Tell City, passed away Friday, May 23, 2025, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Cannelton, IN, on December 22, 1928, to the late Alva Weatherholt and Betsy Jane (Howe) Weatherholt.
Charles was united in marriage on August 12, 1950, to Maytha (Roach) Weatherholt. They shared 65 years together before her passing in 2015. He was a Boilermaker and retired after many dedicated years of service.
Charles was a lifetime member of the Tell City Moose Lodge 1424, 75-year past Master of the Branchville Masonic Lodge 496, 50-year member of the Scottish Rite Valley Of Evansville, 50-years as a Hadi Shriner, the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 272, and the Bristow Christian Church. He was also a past Democratic Party Precinct Committeeman and a past Perry County Commissioner. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In his spare time Charles enjoyed traveling, he and his wife had visited all 50 states.
Surviving are his children, Shirley (Dan) Gayer and Tonya (Darwin) Hagerdon both of Tell City; daughter-in-law, Debra Weatherholt of Tell City; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Chad) Alvey, Jason (Ginger) Gayer, Jerrad (Stephanie) Epple, Julie (Johnathon) Holbrook, Jill (Adam) Miller, Justin (Elana) Epple, Amber (Brian) Greulich and Tessa (Mike) DeVoy; 21 great-grandchildren; and his companion, Jean Krutz.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Charles was preceded in death by his son, David Weatherholt; and siblings, Ernest Weatherholt, Bill Weatherholt, Elizabeth Miller, Herbert Ransom, Otis Ransom, and Dovie Schadle.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM CST on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery with Pastor Gene King and Brother Al Madden co-officiating.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00 until 7:00 PM, with a Masonic Service at 7:00PM, and Wednesday from 8:30 AM until service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bristow Community Center or Branchville Masonic Lodge.
