Charles "Butch" Young

Charles “Butch” Young ,70, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2022.

Born in Tell City, Indiana, he was the son of the late Charles and Pauline (Knott) Young. He was united in marriage to Gwen Johnson on November 19, 1971. Butch graduated from Cannelton High School and retired from Kimball in 2016. He enjoyed collecting baseball cards and watching all kinds of sports especially UK. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching them play sports.

Survivors include his wife, Gwen Young; his children, Pat (Christa) Young of Tell City, IN and Laura (Steve) Durcholz of Owensboro, KY; brothers, Glenn Law of Nashville, TN and Steve Law of Nashville, TN; sister, Jean Vanconey of Tell City; grandchildren, Colton Durcholz, Carley Durcholz, Jack Crawford, Savannah Young and Jude Young.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Danny Young and sister Sulee Sharp.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, May 27, 2022 with Bro Harry McDonald officiating at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3:00pm to 7:00pm Thursday and 9:00 am to service time Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Children's Hospital.
