Clara F. Staats

Clara Staats, 91, passed away March 8, 2021 at her home in Tell City, IN.

Born in Tell City, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late August and Freida Wittman Gerlach. Clara was a 1948 graduate of Troy High School. She was united in marriage to Jackie Wiseman and after his death to Charles Staats who also preceded her in death. She was a homemaker, a member of House of Prayer Church and enjoyed pen pals, and puzzles.

Survivors include her children, Gary Wiseman of Chrisney, IN, Kevin (Shannon) Wiseman of Branchville, IN, Linda (Ralph) Carter of Newtonville, IN, Kathie (Ronnie) Dauby of Tell City, IN, Donna Marcum of Tell City, IN; stepchildren, Doris (Charlie) Brown of Dale, IN, Edna (Charlie) Hubert, Sharon Staats and Brenda Meserve all of Tell City, IN, 29 grandchildren, 78 great grandchildren, 16 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, 2 sons, Rick and Dennis Wiseman, 2 stepchildren, Bill and Jimmy Staats, a granddaughter, Anna Faye Marcum, a step granddaughter, Ann Staats and her siblings, Oscar, Ed, Paul Gerlach and Hilda Evrard.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home with burial in Sandy Creek Cemetery near Grandview, IN. Bro. David Nix will officiate.

Visitation will be from 3:00pm to 7:00pm Wednesday and from 9:00am to service time Thursday at the funeral home .

Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
