Clifton “Corky” Crawford, 76, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana.
He was born in Perry County, Indiana, on October 21, 1949.
After graduating from Tell City High School, Corky proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Vietnam veteran . He was united in marriage to Talma Tindall on September 13, 1986.
Corky worked at Thermwood in Dale, Indiana, where he served as Vice President of Marketing. He retired in 2008 after 34 years of dedicated service. He was a member of American Legion Post 213, VFW Post 2939, and the Moose. In his younger years, he enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially camping and boating. In later years, he developed a love for working on his computer and, most importantly, cherished time spent with his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Talma Crawford; his daughter, Teresa (Chris) Nugent of Tell City; his sister, Sandra Pustelnik of Michigan; his grandchildren, Emma, Eli, Brittany, and Breanna; and six great-grandchildren.
Corky was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Betty Jo (Taber) Swaney; and his brothers, Frank and Bill Swaney.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 27, 2026, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2026, and again on Monday from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
