Demetra Kiplinger

Demetra (Osborne) Kiplinger, 63, passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Brickyard Healthcare with her daughters by her side.

She was born July 10, 1962, to the late Daniel and Rosemary (Kellems) Osborne. Demetra was a stay-at-home mom and baby sat for many kids in the community for over 17 years.

Later Demetra moved to Georgetown, IN, where she was the manager at Card Post and a cashier at the Home Depot in New Albany, IN. She loved coming back to town to see her daughters and grandchildren that she adored and visit with her sister and best friend. Demetra enjoyed singing karaoke, dancing, getting her nails done, but most of all her greatest enjoyment was time spent with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Demetra was preceded in death by her brother Danny Osborne in 2004.

She is survived by her two daughters, Jessica Osborne of Rockport, IN, and Samantha Freeman (Dylan) of Cannelton; a sister Dolores VanWinkle (Mike Snyder) of Tell City; brother Dwayne Osborne (Mandy) of Santa Claus; her best friend, Angela “Angie” Masterson of Tell City; along with seven grandchildren, Rylyn Taylor, Carsyn Lamar, Zayne Adams, Kreidyn Lamar, Easton Napier, Lawsyn Lamar, and Grayson Freeman.

Honoring Demetra's wishes there will be no services.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Liver Foundation or the Lupus Foundation of America.
