Dena Marie (Parr) Whitten, 57, lost her battle with lung cancer at 4:26 PM, surrounded by her family on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at her home in Cannelton.
She was born in Tell City on November 25, 1956 to the late Clyde Parr, Jr. and Shirley (Brown) Parr, who survives.
Dena had worked as a bartender at Bears Place in Cannelton. She enjoyed throwing darts.
Surviving is her husband, Jerry Whitten; her daughters, Misty Parr and Tiffany Coon; five grandchildren, Kaine and Jordyn Vogt, Taryn Powers, and Jerrett and Tyler Coon; her mother, Shirley (Brown) Parr; sisters Carol Parr, Emma Kratzer and Stacey Fruge; a brother, Clyde Parr.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM CST Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Lilly Dale Cemetery. Visitation will also be Wednesday from 9:00 AM until 1:00PM at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
