Murlyn “Dennis” Reynolds, 77, of St. Marks, passed away on Wednesday July 3, 2024, at his home.
He was born in St. Marks, on May 26, 1947, to the late Nelson and Muriel (Hawhee) Reynolds.
Dennis was a 1965 graduate of Tell City High School. After graduating he went on to serve his country by joining the United States Air Force and later obtain his associate degree from Owensboro Business College. Upon returning to the area, he met the love of his life, Dorothy Shadwick, and they were united in marriage on April 1, 1972, sharing 45 wonderful years together before her passing in 2017.
During his working career Dennis “R.J.” was a storeroom clerk at Southwire from where he retired after 36 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post 213 and the 40&8, where he held the role of Chef de Train for Southwest Indiana. He was also a lifetime member of the VFW Post 2939.
He is survived by his children, Robert (Lisa) Reynolds of St. Marks, Jennifer (Aaron) Bickley of Nashville, IN, and Chad (Zachary) Reynolds of Bloomington, IN; sisters, Nancy Hall of Tollesboro, KY, and Patsy Howe of Rockport; his beloved grandchildren, Molly (Dylan), Madison, and Megan; and great-grandchildren, Renli and Ross.
In addition to his parents Dennis was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Reynolds, brothers, Stephen and Leroy Reynolds and a grandson, Ethan.
Funeral Services will be held at 2pm on Wednesday July 10, 2024, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home with burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3pm to 7pm on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, and from 12pm until service time on Wednesday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home.
