Dewey Hammack, 81, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City.
He was born in Perry County on September 4, 1931 to the late Henry and Mary (Brown) Hammack.
Dewey was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp and served in Germany. He was united in marriage on December 17, 1955 to Lela "Jo" Shearn. He was a member of Lewisport Baptist Churh.
Surviving is his wife, Lela "Jo" Hammack of Evanston; daughter, Karen Wicker and husband Glenn of Tell City; brother Eldon Hammack; three grandchildren, Kim LaGrange and husband, Barry, Amity Hensley and husband, Clint and Matt Wicker and wife, Connie; eight great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents and siblings, William, Victor, Duane and John Hammack and Lucille Kriesle.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. CST Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Rev. Bob White will officiate. Burial will follow in Deer Creek Baptist Church. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3-7 p.m. and Wednesday 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
