Don was born in Huntingburg, on November 18, 1972, to Paul Bailey and Clara (Wahl) Carter.

Surviving are her mother and stepfather, Clara and John Carter; her father Paul Bailey; her daughters, Donetta Dixie and Keilah Reed; her son, Christopher Bailey; brothers, David Bailey, Danny Bailey, Thomas Bailey, and Timmy Bailey; sister, Teresa Nichols; grandchildren, Keegan, Layla and Bailey.
