Donald Allen Shaw “Don” Sr. , 83, on the day we celebrate Jesus' birth by giving gift to one another, Don received the ultimate gift of all, eternity with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”. 1 John 5:13 says, “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life”.
Don was born in Springfield, Ohio on November 14, 1939, he is a member of The First Baptist Church in Tell City and served in the United States Marine Corp active duty from January 11, 1956 to January 8, 1960 and reserve from January 8, 1960 to January 10, 1962.Don retired from the former Willamette Industries, coached little league baseball in Tell City for 18 years, bowled for the VFW and served as a reserve police officer for 28 years.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Helen Shaw, children; Barbara Etienne (Randy), Kathie Lackey, Donnie Shaw (Donna) and Julie Shaw; grandchildren, Ammie Kucy (Tom), Bryan Etienne, Jeffery Etienne (Marie), Jordan Etienne, Dee Jay Shaw (Megan), Nathan Shaw (Amber) and several great-grandchildren; two half brothers, Charles McAffee (Kathy) and Eugene McAffee.
Don was preceded in death by a sister May Nicholes and a half sister, Sandy Adamson.
Services will be 6:00pm Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home with burial at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:00pm to service time Wednesday at the funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital of Perry County Special Olympics.
