Doretta Mullis Obituary

Doretta F. Mullis, 81, passed away February 28, 2020 at Golden Living Center in Tell City, Indiana.

Born September 6, 1938 in Lincoln City, Indiana, she was the daughter of George W. and Fannie B. Linley Alvey. She married Marion “Bud” Mullis on April 14, 1956 and retired from the Evansville Courier as a paper carrier.

She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, TOPS I.N.756 and enjoyed watching IU basketball, NASCAR, reading Christian inspired books, her children, grandchild and eating out with her  friends.

Survivors include her daughter, Karen (Tom) Griepenstroh of Lamar; a brother Carl R. (Roberta) Chapman of Tell City; a granddaughter, Tiffaney Gerlach of Tell City; and a great-grandson, Braydon Vaal.

Preceding her in death is her husband, Marion , her parents; a son, Larry; a brother, George W. “Butch” Sims and a sister, Sharon Kellems.

Services will be held at 11 am Tuesday March 3, 2020 at First Church of the Nazarene in Tell City with Pastor Charles Areson officiating. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery Visitation will be from 3 – 7 pm Monday at the funeral home and from 9 am to service time at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made First Church of the Nazarene.
