Doris M. Sturgeon

Doris (Aders) Sturgeon, 97, passed away October 31, 2021 at her home.

She was born September 25, 1924 on Oak Ridge near Bristow, Indiana to the late Riley and Martha (Jeffers) Aders.

She married Wayne Sturgeon on April 6, 1947 in Bristow, IN.

She worked at Kenrad, General Electric and P.N. Hirsch and loved to cook, bake and being with her family. Doris was a member of Bristow Christian Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Diana (Paul) Scott of Tell City, IN, Sue (Terry) Hargis of Hawesville, KY , Judy Davis of Tell City, IN ; 11 grandchildren, Richard Sturgeon, Laurie Sturgeon, Lesley Sturgeon, Cindy Eicher, Brad Scott, Martha Thomas, Carrie Hargis Jones, Sally Hargis Gregory Kozee, Kyle, Kristopher and Kelcie Davis, 18 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband Wayne, she was preceded in death by a son, Cecil Dewayne, great grandson, Jason Scott, great great grandson, Dallas Nichols, a brother, Cecil Aders and sisters, Evelyn Holman, Mary Lamkin and Olga Phillips.

Services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Bristow Christian Church with burial in Bristow Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2:00pm to 7:00pm Tuesday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home and from 9:00am to 11:00am Wednesday at the church.

Memorial donations may be made to Bristow Christian Church of Alzheimer's Association.
