Dorothy Marie VanHoosier

Dorothy M. VanHoosier, 86, passed away Tuesday March 8, 2022, at her home.

She was born in Tell City, IN on May 7, 1935 to the late Ferd and Pearl (Hendershot) Hammack. She married James Fred VanHoosier on June 18, 1955 who preceded her in death in 2011.

Dorothy enjoyed watching television and was a retired volunteer for the Council of Agencies.

Survivors include her children, Steve (Beth) VanHoosier, Danny (Kathy) VanHoosier, and Jeff (Carla) VanHoosier all of Tell City, IN, Alison Barber of Dale, IN, Amy (Dan) Hynes of Cuzco, IN; siblings, Kenneth Hammack of Tell City, IN, Perk Rothgerber of Huntingburg, IN, Helen Jones of New Albany, IN, Ruth Karney of Tell City, IN, Sue Harris of Tell City, IN; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and her parents she was preceded in death by a son Mark Allen and her siblings, Ferd Hammack and Maggie Bauer.

Visitation will be from 9:00am to 11:30am on Monday March 14, 2022, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home in Tell City, IN.

Graveside services will be held on 12:00 Noon Monday March 14, 2022, at St. Mark's Catholic Cemetery.
