Duane David Cassidy, 54, passed away Wednesday July 7, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, IN due to complications of Covid.
He was born in Tell City, IN on September 30, 1966 the son of the late Russell and Mary Helen (Cronin) Cassidy.
He married Beth Vance on a hot summer day on June 17, 1995. He was a 1985 graduate of Perry Central High School and earned an associates degree in business at Vincennes University, Jasper campus and obtained a bachelors degree in agriculture from Western Kentucky University.
Duane was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church, the Perry County Cattlemen's Association and the New Amsterdam Boat Club in New Amsterdam, IN.
He loved anything to do with the outdoors, hunting, fishing (cat fishing) and working on the family farm.
He is survived by his wife, Beth; sons Steven (Shawn) Cassidy and Nathan Cassidy both of rural Tell City, IN; grandsons, Ethan and Levi Cassidy; a brother, Richard (Mary) Cassidy of Tell City, IN; sisters, Kay Gerstenschlager of Phoenix, AZ, Linda (Denny) Dauby of Branchville, IN, Mary Lee (Houston) Smith of Leopold, IN, Patty (Ed) Jarvis of Tulsa, OK, numerous nieces and nephews and even more great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Shawnetta (Smith) Cassidy.
Services will be at 10:00 am Monday, July 12, 2021 at Zoercher-Gillick with Fr. Luke Waugh, OSB officiating. Burial in St. Marks Catholic Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm Sunday and from 8:30 am to service time Monday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Perry County Special Olympics.
