Earl Krieg Obituary

Earl A. Krieg, 87, passed away, January 26, 2025, at Gateway Hospital in Evansville.

 

On June 22, 1937, he was born at his home in St. Marks, son of Andrew and Georgia (Blum) Krieg.

 

Earl graduated in 1955 from Tell City High School. He was united in marriage at St. Marks on January 28, 1961, to Roberta Schroeder, and they shared 63 years together.

 

Earl was a United Stated Army veteran, having served 2 years with the National Guard and three years in the Army. He retired from National Southwire after 30 years of dedicated service. In his younger days, Earl loved to hunt squirrel, coon, and rabbits with his dogs. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and playing golf. In his later years, he enjoyed old western movies and was quite good at trap shooting.

 

Earl is survived by his wife, Bertie Krieg; sons, Rodney Krieg (Kat Roberts) and Mark Krieg (Shawna Willis); grandchildren, Brandy (Chris) Way, Lee, Andrew, and Austin Krieg; great-grandchildren, Makayla, Madilyn, and Maysen Way, and Lili Krieg; and a sister-in-law, Ginger Krieg.

 

In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by his brother, David Krieg and two sisters, Joanna Braunecker, Rosemary Suters.

 

A private burial will be held at St. Marks Cemetery.
