Ed Dukes Obituary

Edward D. “Little Ed” Dukes Jr., 32, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro, Kentucky.

Ed was born in Owensboro, Kentucky on June 20, 1994, to Edward Dukes Sr. and Shelly Allgood.

Ed worked at KLUTCH lawn care. He was a strong, active, and athletic man who enjoyed running, working out, being on the river, and training for MMA fighting. He had a natural competitive spirit and excelled in sports throughout his school years. He attended Tell City and Heritage Hills High Schools.

Outside of athletics, Ed had a thoughtful and creative side. He enjoyed writing poems and stories and had a gift for storytelling. He could turn an experience into a story and was someone who had a way of keeping those around him entertained and listening. He loved being outdoors, spending time in nature, and simply being where he felt free.

Ed was outgoing, strong-willed, and full of personality. He was also deeply caring and spiritual, with a softer side that he showed to the people he loved. Family meant a great deal to him, and he took pride in being a big brother. He was protective, loving, and always had a place in his heart for his family. Those who knew Ed will remember his athletic spirit, his stories, his determination, and the big heart behind his tough exterior.

He is survived by his father, Edward Dukes Sr. of Tell City; his mother, Shelly Allgood of Tell City; his siblings, Joseph Dukes of Tell City, Kendra (Justin) Ransom of Huntingburg, Ashley Little of Hallsville, Travis Dukes of Cannelton, Alexi Alvey of Rockport, Savanah Horn of Tell City, Alyvia Horn of Rockport, and Kywren Badger of Muncie; and his nephews, Hendrix, Gage, and Ilijah, and nieces, Kiersten and Naomi, along with countless other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service, with burial to follow in Troy City Cemetery.
