Evelyn Harpenau

Evelyn C. Harpenau, 97, passed away on Monday September 19, 2022, at Oakwood Health Campus.

Evelyn was born June 5, 1925, in Perry County, Indiana. The daughter of the late Albert and Josephine (Wheatley) Flamion. She was united in marriage to the late Robert P. Harpenau. Evelyn worked at GE and enjoyed quilting, gardening, and playing cards.

Surviving is her son Paul (Marcella) Harpenau of Branchville; siblings, Jean (Charlie) Etienne of Tell City and Sue (Bernard) Hessig of St. Croix; grandchildren, Michele (Ivan) Bland, Denise (Tony) Durcholz, Robin (Sheila) Harpenau, and Monique Harpenau-Schaffer; 11 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Evelyn is preceded in death by her daughter Elaine Harpenau; her brothers, Ernest Mark, Ray, Andrew, Willard, Gerald and Donald Flamion and a sisters Verona Flamion, Rosemary Etienne, and Cornelia Harpenau.

A private family service will be held at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home with Fr. Brian Esarey officiating. Burial will follow in St. Augustine Catholic Church Cemetery.
