Francis “Spud” Kleeman, 89, passed away May 4, 2021 at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
He was born on October 28, 1931 to Frank and Louise Eleanor (Birchler) Kleeman in Tell City, Indiana. Spud was a 1949 graduate of Tell City High School where he played on the football team. He married Helen Masterson on November 10, 1949 at St. Pius Catholic Church in Troy, IN.
He owned and operated Kleeman Masonry and along with his wife, Helen owned Big K Liquors and Treasure Trove Antiques in Troy. He enjoyed antiques, woodworking, being outdoors, playing cards and was a member of the UHL Collectors Club.
Survivors include his wife, Helen, children, Rocky (Shelia) Kleeman of Troy, IN, Bret Kleeman of Troy, IN, Christina (Jerry) Olivero of Mariah Hill, IN, Leah Kleeman (Mel) of Huntingburg, IN; a daughter-in-law, Angie Kleeman of Troy, IN; grandchildren, Dr. Eric, Travis, Kaci, Nathan, Kara, Megan, Brandon, Angel, Olivia and Dex; 19 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are his parents, sons, Rodney and Mark “Flash” Kleeman, a daughter-in-law, Jodi Kleeman, and his siblings, Lucille Parker, Jake Kleeman, Albert Kleeman, James Kleeman, Andrew Kleeman, William Kleeman, Mark Kleeman, Rosella Craig, Rosetta Thomas, Elenor Doneghue, Helen Teresa Kleeman, Charles Kleeman, Catherine Keller and Mike Kleeman.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 am on Friday May 7, 2021 at St. Pius Catholic Church with burial in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Tell City. Visitation will be from
2:00pm to 7:00pm Thursday and from 8:30am to 9:15am Friday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home.
