Francis C. “Dutch” Williams, 93, passed away Sunday November 6, 2022, at his home.
Born in Tell City, IN on January 19, 1929, the son of the late Claude and Antoinette (Gratzer) Williams.
He was united in marriage to Rosella “Rosie” (Linne) Williams on January 19,1952. Dutch was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict as a corpsman with the Marines. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, VFW, Legion, J. Cees and Knights of Columbus. Dutch liked to travel and camp and was a charter member of William Tell Campers. He had worked at General Electric for more than 30 years, owned the Dog and Suds Restaurant and served his community as a City Councilman and a City Judge. He wore many hats throughout the years being a band parent, little league and CYO basketball coach. He was an avid sports fan and loved his family dearly.
Survivors include his wife, Rosie Williams; children, Kevin Williams of Tell City, Mark (Kim) Williams of Tell City, Sherri (Judy) Williams of Owensboro, David (Wendy) Williams of Bridgeville, PA, and John (Tina) Williams of Evansville; grandchildren, Ashley, Amanda, Andrew, Mark, Laura, Jennie, Rachel, Zach, Haley, and Austin; 12 great-grandchildren.
Dutch is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Friday, November 11, 2022, at St. Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Kolbe Wolniakowski. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Thursday November 10, 2022, from 3:00 to 7:00pm at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home and 8:30 to 9:30am Friday November 11, 2022, at the funeral home.
