Frank L. Groves, 88, passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at his home in Tell City with family by his side.
He was born February 19, 1933 in Tobinsport, IN the son of the late Dwight and Ivy Belle Wheeler Groves. Frank was an 1950 graduate of Cannelton High School and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He married Darla Mullis on May 26, 1956 who survives him.
He was a foreman for 25 years at Can Tex and retired from Aleris in 1995. He was a member of the American Legion, 40&8 and enjoyed gardening, Purdue Basketball and college athletics.
Survivors include his wife, Darla; his children, Dean (Melissa) Groves, Scott (Janet) Groves, Julie (James) Dantic; a brother, Arnold Groves, grandchildren, Stephanie (Bryan) Taylor, Jake (Zoe) Groves, Molly (Zach) Bonenberger, Benjamin and Ivy Dantic; great- granddaughters, Lily and Masie Groves, Bryleigh Taylor and Madelyn Bonenberger.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents are his siblings, Allen Groves, Leona Byers, Homer Groves and Robert Groves.
Services will be 10:00 am Saturday January 8, 2022 at St. Paul Catholic Church with burial in St. Mary Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3:00pm to 7:00pm Friday and from 8:30am to 9:30am Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
