Harold L. “Crash” Craddock, 83, of Tell City, passed away December 1, 2024, at Oakwood Health Campus.
Born November 28, 1941, in Hancock County, KY, he was the son of the late Lavelle and Zelphia (Sanders) Craddock.
Harold was united in marriage to Carolyn Seibert on December 9, 1961.
He was an Ivy Tech graduate majoring as a machinist, an Owensboro Technical College graduate majoring in Computer Programming, and he also took classes for welding, electrical, and air conditioning. Harold worked at NSA for over 32 years as a programmer before retiring in 2000. He also co-owned Hilger's Laundry and Dry- Cleaning with his wife Carolyn. Harold loved motorcycles and had been riding since he was 12 years old, starting with a Harley Hummer and ending with a Harley Trike. He also enjoyed building things which included but was not limited to restoring British cars, motorcycles, and tractors. Harold also liked to collect and restore antique cast iron Budweiser beer wagons.
Harold was a science enthusiast, loving astronomy most of all. He was a man of many talents and was highly intelligent. If he was told something couldn't be done you could be sure Harold would figure out a way.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Carolyn Craddock of Tell City; daughter, Kimberlin Starks (Bill) of Henderson, KY; grandsons, Jordan and Matthew Starks; and a special niece, Arika Seibert
In addition to his parents Harold was preceded in death by stepfather, John Lampkins.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home with Chaplain Barry Groh officiating. Burial will follow in Lilly Dale Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, December 6, 2024, and from 12:00 pm to service time Saturday at the funeral home.
