Helen J. Kleeman

Helen J. Kleeman, 92, passed away March 27, 2025, surrounded by her family at her home in Troy, IN.

She was born in Troy, IN, on July 4, 1932, to Elmer and Celeste (Wittmer) Masterson. Helen married Francis “Spud” Kleeman on November 10, 1949, at St. Pius Catholic Church in Troy, IN. They shared 71 years together before his passing in 2021.

Helen owned and operated Big K Liquors and Treasure Trove Antiques in Troy, IN, along with her husband for many years. She was also a nurse's aide at Perry County Memorial Hospital for several years and an independent phlebotomist. Helen enjoyed antiques, auctions, playing cards, and painting, but she enjoyed her family and the time they shared together the most.

Survivors include her children, Rocky (Sheila) Kleeman of Troy, IN, Christine (Jerry) Olivero of Mariah Hill, IN, Leah Kleeman (Mel) of Huntingburg, IN, and Bret Kleeman of Troy, IN; a daughter-in-law, Angie Kleeman of Troy, IN; 10 grandchildren, Dr. Eric, Travis, Kaci, Nathan, Kara, Megan, Brandon, Angel, Olivia and Dex; 22 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by 2 sons, Rodney and Mark “Flash” Kleeman; daughter-in-law, Jodi Kleeman; and siblings, Janice Champion and Bob Masterson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Monday, April 14, 2025, at St. Pius Catholic Church in Troy, IN, with burial in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Tell City, IN. Visitation will be from 9:00am until Mass at the church.
