Helen Lucille Shaw, 86, passed away on June 12, 2026, at Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City, Indiana.
She was born December 27, 1939, to the late Cyril and Pearl (Bryant) Foster. Helen was also preceded in death by her siblings, Robert Foster, Larry Foster, Linda Lumpkins, and three sisters in infancy, Brenda Fay, June Kaye, and Sharon Sue. She was united in marriage to Donald Allen Shaw Sr. on October 31, 1959, and they shared 62 years together until his passing in 2021.
Helen was a devoted homemaker and a faithful attendee of First Baptist Church in Tell City and Deer Creek Baptist Church in Gatchel. She dedicated her life to caring for her family and creating a loving home for those she cherished. Helen enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were the center of her world.
She loved gathering around the card table for a spirited game of Hausey, where family members jokingly accused her of bending the rules from time to time. Some of her happiest memories were made while camping with her family at Rough River and traveling to Florida with friends, especially the many cherished trips to Lake Josephine. Helen also enjoyed spending time on the water boating and making lasting memories with those she loved. Her warm heart, playful sense of humor, and deep love for family will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Surviving are her children, Barbara Etienne (Randy), Kathie Lackey (Charlie Little), Donnie Shaw (Donna), and Julie Shaw; grandchildren, Ammie Kucy (Tom), Bryan Etienne, Jeffery Etienne (Marie), Jordan Etienne, Dee Jay Shaw (Megan), Nathan Shaw (Amber); several great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.
Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 15, 2026, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Burial will take place at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service.
