Helen Volgemann Obituary

Helen L. Doogs Volgemann, 92, passed away November 8, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville.

 

She was born September 2, 1929 in Perry County, IN to the late Walter and Claudina (Schmidt) Doogs.

She retired after 40 years from General Electric in Tell City. Helen was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and the VFW Auxiliary.

 

Helen enjoyed dancing, gambling, gardening and her family and friends.

 

Survivors include her daughter, Diana (Charlie) Lynn Goffinet of Mt. Pleasant, IN; sisters, Pauline Hughes of Fayettville, NC, Eloise Hughes of Grandview, IN; grand children, Karey (Brian) Kleeman, Holly (Danny) Blandford, Andy Goffinet and 2 great grandchildren, Trenton Hoesli, Cole Peckenpaugh.

 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a great grandchild, Aiden Alvey, her siblings, Rita Simon, Agnes Rice, Opal Harpe, Geneva Scott, Floyd Doogs and Flora Simon.

 

Services will be 10:00 am Friday, November 12, 2021 at St. Paul Catholic Church with burial in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.

 

Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 7:00pm Thursday and from 8:30am to 9:30am Friday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home.

 

Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church or the Tri-State Multiple Sclerosis Association, 971 S Kenmore Dr, Evansville, IN 47714.
