Imogene (Poellein) Dauby

Imogene Dauby 96, passed away August 19, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, IN.

She was born February 21, 1925 to the late Otto and Addie (Brinkman) Poellein in Santa Claus, IN. Imogene married Cleatis Dauby on June 10, 1947. As a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, she thrived in her work for the church, especially the coffee socials.

Her enjoyments in life were her family, friends and love of all children... especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Imogene loved telling stories of the past. She earned her living nurturing kids for almost 50 years. She will be remembered for being a down to earth very kind person, an avid baker, having a brilliant mind, photographic memory of people's birthdays, and always smiling.

Surviving are her children, Dorothy (Craig) McKenzie of Indianapolis, IN., Kathleen Kleemann and JR Dauby of Tell City, IN., a sister Jane Stutsman of Boonville, IN.; five grandchildren, Derek (Kristen) Kleemann of Tell City, IN., Scott McKenzie of Indianapolis, IN., Sara McKenzie of Indianapolis, IN., Natalie (Richard) Buckler of Fishers, IN.,  Kari (Alan) Duran of Roseville, CA.; nine great grandchildren Elijah, Gabe and Emma Kleemann, Jaxton Buckler, Gavin and Nicholas McKenzie, Madelyn, Olivia and Quinn Duran.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Cleatis: two brothers John and Howard Poellein; two sisters Delores Painter and Helena Medcalf; son-in-law Jim Kleemann; and grandson Zach Kleemann.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 am Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at St. Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Tony Hallowell officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm Tuesday and from 8:30-9:30 Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Paul Catholic Church or the Zach Kleemann Memorial Scholarship fund.
