Obituary

Iola Isabell Lasher, 90, passed away on Thursday July 20, 2023, at Oakwood Health Campus.

 

Iola was born February 23, 1933, in Bristow, Indiana. The daughter of the late Dave and Sarah (Sprinkle) King. She was united in marriage on June 1, 1949, to Lawrence Lasher. She retired from GE after 37 years of service and enjoyed playing cards and going to the casino.

 

Surviving is her children, Shirley Allard of Leopold, Brian Lasher and friend Donna, of REO, Rodney (Rosemary) Lasher of Tell City, and Todd Lasher of Owensboro; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and her special friend, Lori Cassidy, who visited her every week.

 

In addition to her parents and husband, Iola is preceded in death by her brothers, Delbert, Riley, Paul and Oral King, and her sisters, Lucille Peter and Verona Genet.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Monday, July 24, 2023, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Fr. Brian Esarey officiating. Burial will follow in St. Augustine Catholic Church Cemetery.

 

Visitation will be from 1pm to 6pm on Sunday, July 23, 2023, and from 8am until 9:15am on Monday, July 24, 2023, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home.

 

Memorial contribution may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
