Irene Flamion Obituary

Irene Sarah Flamion, 91, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2014 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville.

She was born January 5, 1923 to the late Martin and Delphine (Bodart) Flannagan.

Irene retired in 1991; she was a teacher for Perry Central Schools. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and Daughters of Isabella, Delta Kappa Gamma, NEA, and ISTA. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, playing euchre, bunco and enjoyed time with her family.

Surviving are her children, Carolyn (John) Pfeiffer of Tell City, Roger Flamion of Troy, Diana Wright of Boonville, Ralph (Susan) Flamion of Tell City, and Linda (Pete) Avenatti of Clinton; sister, Christine Hawkins of Tell City; nine grandchildren, John and Jason Pfeiffer, Vicki Turner, Chris and Marty Wright, Peter and Clint Avenatti, Travis and Zach Flamion; and ten great-grandchilren.

Preceding Irene in death is her husband William Flamion; siblings, Agnes Brickner, Florence Flannagan, Helen Beck, Anna Ramsey, Elnore Flannagan, William, Albert, Charles, and Martin Flannagan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. CST, Thursday, December 11, 2014 at St. Paul Catholic Church. Father Dennis Duvelius will offficiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home on Wednesday, from 2:00-7:00 P.M., with a D of I service at 6:30 P.M. and Thursday, 8:30-9:30 A.M.
