James Blue Obituary

James Allen Blue, 70, of Tell City, Indiana, passed away on February 26, 2023. Jim was born on July 2, 1952, in Evansville, Indiana, the son of the Walter and Virginia “Jean” (Schum) Blue.

 

Jim graduated from Tell City High School in 1970 and joined the National Guard. He worked at the Tell City Chair Company until it closed. Jim then worked at Swain Industries until its closure. He then went to work at Waupaca Foundry where he retired as a Maintenance Planner. Jim enjoyed feeding the wildlife.

 

Survivors include his mother, Jean Blue; siblings, Patty (Roger) Dixon of Tell City, Jeff (Mary) Blue of Ft. Myers, FL; nephew, Matthew Blue; nieces; Julia Kurnia and Connie Dixon; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

 

Jim is preceded in death by his father, Walter Blue, Jr.

 

Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at St. Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Tony Hollowell officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Tell City.

 

Visitation will be from 4pm to 6pm on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, and 11am to 12:30pm on Thursday, March 09, 2023, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home in Tell City, IN.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society.
