James A. Graham, 84, of Tell City, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at his home in Tell City, IN.
Born in Millstone, on October 25, 1941, son of the late Roy Willis and Hazel (Gilbert) Graham. Jim was also preceded in death by his siblings, Roy & Willis Graham, and Ruth Hazel Beal.
Jim graduated from Cannelton High School and went on to serve our country by joining the United States Air Force and the Indiana Army National Guard. He was later awarded a Kentucky Colonel for his accomplishments during his service.
He was united in marriage to Opal Mae Cronin on April 6, 1963. Jim retired after 26 ½ dedicated years of service as a correctional officer and teacher at Branchville Correctional Facility. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, crossword puzzles, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals. Jim's greatest enjoyment was his time spent with his family, especially his grand and great-grandchildren.
Surviving is his wife of 62 years, Opal Graham; children, Rebecca (Jeff) Waninger of Fulda, and Terry Graham of Tell City; brother, Lee (Debbie) Graham of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Joshua, Jake, Gerrad, and Allyson Waninger, Tiffany (Timothy) Peter, and Marcus Graham; great-grandchildren, Bria and Leo Waninger and Emery Peter
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00pm on Friday, December 5, 2025, and from 10:00am until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a college trust fund for his great-grandchildren.
