James Edward Mulzer, 84, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at his home.
Jim was born August 22, 1940, to the late Arnold W. and Jane A. (Cole) Mulzer. He was united in marriage to Joyce Harpenau on March 7, 1964.
He was a 1960 graduate of Tell City High School. A United States Army veteran, Jim served his country at Fort Knox, Kentucky from 1963-1965. He was the co-owner of Mulzer Crushed Stone and Affiliates and had served as the president of the Indiana Mineral Aggregates Association. Jim was an active member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, along with many community and professional organizations. Jim loved his family and his grandchildren; they were well known as the joy of his life. He was an avid boater who enjoyed traveling with his wife, gardening, and jigsaw puzzles.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Joyce Mulzer; sons, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Mulzer of Naples FL, Timothy (Lahna) Mulzer of Santa Claus, IN, and Jason (Kelly) Mulzer of Villa Hills, KY; his siblings, Roberta Smith of Darmstadt, and Kenneth (Dee) Mulzer of Santa Claus; 9 grandchildren, Matthew, James II, Michael, Hannah, Grant, Cole, Megan Burgess, Lauren, and Camryn; and his 4 great-grandchildren, Jace, Kira, Rosaleigh, and James.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brothers, Neil Mulzer and Arnold Mulzer, Jr.
Services will be private. Entombment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery.
