Jannie Gertrude “Jane” Scarbrough, 82, passed away on February 5, 2026, at her home.
Jane was born in Shetlerville, Illinois, on November 20, 1943, to the late James and Irene (Lee) Snyder. She could often be found playing pool, fishing, camping, or out for a walk, with country music in her ears and Johnny Cash in her heart.
Jane is survived by her sons, John (Cami) Barnett of Hatfield, IN, and Frank Barnett of Boonville, IN; step-children, Sheli (Leroy) Bunton of Newburgh and Randy (Stephanie) Scarbrough of Boonville; a sister, Frances Masterson of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Kenneth (Jessica), Dawn, Alicia, Tyler, Maranda, Vanessa, Christina, Daniel (Mariah), and Keri; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Addison, McKenna (Reese), Iyla, Haylee, Serenity, Amiyah, Isiah, Nariah, Lilianah, Josiah, and Ajeiah; and nieces, Lisa (Rob) and Robin (Chris).
In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Ronald Scarbrough; her son, Robert Barnett; and her brothers, James Arthur, Tom, John, and Roy Snyder.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home, with visitation from 12:00 p.m. until service time. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery.
