Jerry Wiseman

Jerry Wiseman, 71, of Tell City passed away peacefully Dec. 16, 2023, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro, KY, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born March 26, 1952, to Burt and Bernice (Hattie) Wiseman in Birdseye, Ind.

He was united in loving marriage to Linda (Thompson) for 27 years and was a proud and loving father to his daughter, Jeri Lee Wiseman-Ring (Brent), and his stepson, Jason Lindsey (Tracy). His grandchildren, Dylan, Mackenzie and Madison Ring, and Katie Lindsey, were his pride and joy.

He retired as a heavy equipment operator from United Mineral and spent his retirement as an avid gardener who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Jerry was also an accomplished musician and entertainer, who enjoyed making people laugh. He never met a stranger and always sought to brighten a person’s day, no matter the circumstance or occasion. Lovingly known as The Head of Neighborhood Watch, he (along with his treasured dog, Bella) was a welcoming neighbor and friend to all.

In addition to his beloved immediate family, he is survived by his dear siblings, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and many cherished friends who are like family, including James Beasley and Sarahi Michel.

His ready smile, engaging wit and generous heart will be greatly missed. The family will host a celebration of Jerry’s life this spring.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a fund set up to help offset hospital and final expenses.
