Franklin James “Jim” O'Brien, 82, formerly of Tell City, IN, passed away in Coeur d'Alene, ID, on November 4, 2024.
He was born on May 1, 1942, in White River, SD, to the late Frank and Ethyle (Dano) O'Brien.
Jim graduated from White River High School and Black Hills State University in South Dakota. He was united in marriage to Charlotte Ridgway on August 12, 1962, and they shared 56 years together before her passing in 2019. Jim also served our country in the United States Army from 1967 to 1969. He worked as a manager in mining and construction.
He enjoyed his grandkids, horses, and Sunday drives.
Survivors include sons, Jeff O'Brien (Tessa) of Tell City and James O'Brien of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; a daughter, Kasi O'Brien; his grandkids, Cole, Cadin, Chase, Alex (Chelsea), and Drevan O'Brien, and Hailey and Chloe Carman; and one great-granddaughter, Blaire.
In addition to his parents Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte O'Brien and his brothers, David, Don, and Dan O'Brien.
Funeral services will be held at 7pm Monday, November 11, 2024, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home with Pastor Derek Roe officiating. There will be a private burial in St. Peter's UCC Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4pm until service time on Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's UCC Cemetery in Evanston.
