John Nickens Obituary

John W. Nickens,72, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

He was born on June 19, 1948 in Tennyson, IN the son of the late Bert and Grace (Miller) Nickens.

John married Judy Little on march 19, 1977 and enjoyed deer hunting, collecting old coins, working on tractors, family Sunday dinners and playing Santa at Christmas. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines.

Survivors include his wife Judy; daughters, Samantha Nickens, Mellisa Barrera both of Owensboro, KY; a son John David Nickens; a sister Ruby Stermier of Richmond, IN; grandchildren, Christopher Barrera, Cisco Nickens and Aaliyah Nickens.

Preceding him in death in addition to his parents is siblings Gerald Nickens, Harold Nickens, Linda Motteler and Dorothy Nickens.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday February 9, 2021 at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home with burial in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2:00pm to 7:00pm Monday and from 9:00am to service time Tuesday at the funeral home
