Juanita Gratzer, 88, passed away Friday, March 30, 2012 at her home. She was born in Tell City on December 13, 1923 to the late William and Mary (Alvey) Sandage. She was united in marriage on November 24, 1944 to Robert "Bob" Gratzer, who precedes her in death. Together they owned and operated Bob’s Auto Parts in Tell City and she was co-owner of Dogs n’ Suds also in Tell City. Juanita was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and past member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed being with her family, arts and crafts, gardening and volunteering at the hospital.
Surviving are children, C.A. Gratzer and Roxanne (Keith) Rust of Tell City, IN; a sister, Jean Goffinet of Tell City, IN; brother, Billy Lee Sandage of Lexington, KY; three grandchildren, Danielle (Little) Zuelly, Tasha DeHaven and Whitney Turner; five great grandchildren, Dylon Vincent, Chelsey Conner, Trey Mathies, Silas Zuelly and Alexis Turner. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother, Raymond.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at St. Paul Catholic Church. Father Tom Richstatter O.S.F. will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home on Monday from 2-8 PM and Tuesday from 8:30-9:30 AM.
