Judith Lee Meunier, 88, of Tell City, Indiana, peacefully passed away on December 20, 2025, at her home surrounded by family. Judith, known to all as Judy, was born on Mother’s Day, May 9, 1937, at the old Parkview Hospital in Tell City. She was the only child of the late Carl Allen McNeely of Farmington, Kentucky, and the late Virginia Lee (Wittmer) McNeely of Cannelton, Indiana.
Judy completed her education in Tell City and was a proud member of the Class of 1955, which recently celebrated its 70th class reunion. Shortly before graduating, she began working at Citizens National Bank in Tell City, where she advanced to Teller and later served as Secretary to the President. Judy left the bank in 1961 following the birth of her first child. In 1972, she returned to the workforce as Administrative Assistant at St. Paul’s Catholic Church. She faithfully served the parish for 27 years before retiring.
On a beautiful winter day, January 24, 1959, Judy married the love of her life, Arthur E. Meunier. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Art, with whom she would have celebrated 67 years of marriage this coming January. She was also preceded in death by her cherished granddaughter, Marie Meunier.
Judy found great joy in spending time with her family and enjoyed many activities throughout her life, including traveling and bowling with her husband, Ladies Golf, Couples Golf, singing in St. Paul’s Choir, participating in book clubs and card clubs, teaching Religious Education, and performing in summer musicals. She was most proud of supporting her children in all their activities, especially swim team, band, choir, and musicals. A devoted member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Judy was also a proud member of the Daughters of Isabella, Tri Kappa, and the Perry County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, where she served as President.
Judy leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her three children, Arthur A. Meunier (Rosemary) of Mt. Carmel, Illinois; Melanie Adkins (Jeff) of Lewisport, Kentucky; and Matthew Meunier (Tracy) of Louisville, Kentucky; nine grandchildren, Megan Simpson (Nick), Marie Meunier, Heather Satterfield (Mike), Austin Meunier (Christine), Ross Adkins, Carl Meunier (Nicole), Lauren Edelen (Codi), Allen Meunier (Holly), and Drew Adkins (Lane); and twenty-one great-grandchildren: Mckenzie, Allie, Mollie, and Cambron Simpson, Wren, Willow, Hazel Lee, Opal, and Ivy Satterfield, Jordan and Avery Meunier, Madelyn, James, and Samuel Adkins, Ava and Kai Edelen, Mia and William Meunier, Graham and Marcella Cox, and baby Kennedy Adkins, expected in May.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at St. Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Tony Hollowell officiating. Burial will follow in Saint Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation is from 2 – 7 pm Monday, December 22, 2025, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home with a Daughters of Isabella Prayer Service at 6:30 pm, followed by a Rosary, and from 8:30 – 9:30 am Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Judy’s honor to St. Paul’s Catholic Church, the American Diabetes Association (Pediatric Diabetes), or Donate Life America, in support of organ and tissue donation—a cause close to Judy’s heart following her great-grandson’s heart transplant at just five weeks of age.
