Kerry N. Damin

Kerry Neal Damin, 60, of Tell City, entered the presence of his Savior on July 27, 2026, at Linda E. White Hospice House following an extraordinary nearly six-year journey with metastatic colon cancer.

Born on November 14, 1965, in Tell City, Kerry was the son of Tom and Irene (Early) Damin, Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved stepson, Tyler Hill. Kerry was a proud 1984 graduate of Tell City High School and dedicated 31 years of service to Parker-Hannifin, formerly Meggitt, before retiring.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Tara, with whom he shared 16 wonderful years of marriage and whom he had loved since she was 15 years old; his children, Jordan McKenzie, Robby Kordish (Kelsee), and Meagan Hill; his siblings, Tony Damin, Barbara Damin, and Cheryl Sweeney (Pat); his mother-in-law, Joan Eiden, who loved him as her own son; his nieces and nephews, Ryan Butler (Grant), Dalton Sweeney (Elise), and Andy Damin; along with many extended family members and cherished friends.

Kerry loved Jesus, hunting, fishing, the outdoors, God's breathtaking creation, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He had a special love for his cats, who brought him great comfort and companionship, and his greatest earthly love was the unwavering devotion he shared with his beloved wife, Tara. He was one of the hardest-working people you could ever meet—always busy, organized, and finding something to build, repair, or improve. During the last five years, he and Tara traveled the country together, exploring America's most beautiful national parks and creating memories they will cherish forever.

During his illness, Kerry's faith grew even stronger. He shared with family, friends, hospital staff, nurses, doctors, and even strangers that he found himself at the feet of Jesus, embracing Him while Jesus hung on the cross. He described experiencing an overwhelming joy unlike anything he had ever known, while at the same time feeling profound sorrow for what Christ endured for all of us. That experience gave Kerry an unshakable peace that remained with him throughout the rest of his journey. In his final days, he repeatedly reassured Tara, "You do know I'm going to be okay, right? I am okay." Those words remain a lasting gift of peace to all who loved him.

Kerry's legacy is one of unwavering faith, unconditional love, perseverance, and hope. In his honor, the Kerry Damin Hope & Advocacy Foundation is being established to support, educate, and advocate for individuals and families facing serious illness. Memorial contributions may be made to the Foundation through German American Bank.

An Inspirational Celebration of Kerry's Life will be held on Thursday, August 6, at the Schergens Center in Tell City. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Father Bernie Etienne will officiate as family and friends gather for music, personal reflections, and a special message inspired by Kerry's faith—one he longed to share with all who attend.

In lieu of only traditional floral arrangements, the family welcomes perennial flowers, flowering shrubs, or trees that can be planted in Kerry's memory as a lasting reminder of a life rooted in faith, love, and hope.
